Abstract:
The global incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing year by year, and for patients without distant spread, surgical resection of the primary tumor and regional lymph node dissection are the only possible treatments. However, some patients still develop metastases in the liver, lungs, and peritoneum. This article reviews the present situation, mechanism, characteristics and progress of diagnosis and treatment of colorectal peritoneal metastasis. Systemic chemotherapy combined with CRS+HIPEC should be regarded as the standard treatment for peritoneal metastases, which is by far the most effective treatment regimen.
