Abstract:
Objective This study aimed to observe the effect of Kang Lai Te (KLT) injection for locally advanced lung cancer on radiotherapy treatment.
Methods Data of 108 elderly patients with stage Ⅲ lung cancer who failed to undergo chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups, the treatment group A with simple radiotherapy (56 cases) and the treatment group B with radiotherapy based on the application of KLT injection (52 cases).
Results After the treatments were performed, the total effective rates were 42.9% and 67.7% in groups A and B, respectively. A significant difference was found between the two groups. Karnofsky scores and the occurrence of adverse reactions were also significantly different (P < 0.05).
Conclusion Radiotherapy based on the application of KLT treatment for elderly patients with advanced lung cancer can significantly improve the clinical effect and the quality of life of patients as well as reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
