Abstract:
Esophageal cancer is one of the most common cancers across the world. Surgery remains the first choice of treatment for esophageal cancer. In this study, most patients manifested symptoms of advanced cancer. Thus, palliative therapy was performed to relieve the patients from dysphagia, provide the necessary nutrients, and prolong the survival rate. Stents and some new recanalization methods have been used to treat dysphagia of esophageal cancer and increasing modalities have been considered in the palliative therapy of esophageal cancer.We also reviewed the current status of palliative therapy for esophageal cancer.
