Abstract:
Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) comprises a group of RNAs that are longer than 200 nucleotides. The lncRNA does not contain functional open reading frames and cannot encode proteins.RNA accounts for a large proportion in the total noncoding RNAs.The number, type, and function of lncRNA are unclear, so they have been called the dark matter of the genome. With the application of a new generation of gene sequencing technology, lncRNA is found to be involved in the mechanisms mediating the signal transduction pathway, regulating the cell cycle, and inducing cell apoptosis. In this article, the authors summarized the up-to-date research progress on lncRNA in digestive system neoplasms in China and overseas to provide new insights into the genetic diagnosis and treatment of digestive system neoplasms in clinics.
