Abstract: Gastric cancer is one of the most common clinical malignant tumors; surgery is an important treatment for it. The postoperative 5-year survival rate of patients with advanced gastric cancer is low; postoperative tumor recurrence is an important factor influencing the prognosis of patients. With the continuous development of domestic medicine, the technology of intraperitoneal hyperthermic perfusion chemotherapy is improved continuously, and is widely used in postoperative adjuvant therapy for patients with advanced gastric cancer. Long-term clinical practice shows that prophylactic use of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer could significantly reduce the recurrence rate of gastric cancer and improve the 5-year survival rate of patients. It plays a positive role in improving the quality of life of patients and overall clinical curative effect. In this review, the clinical application of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer in China was summarized.
