Abstract:
Retroperitoneal liposarcoma(RPLS) is a malignant mesenchymal tumor found in the retroperitoneal space, with a relatively low incidence, an uncertain etiology and pathogenesis, diverse imaging and pathological manifestations, and varying degrees of malignancy. At present, the mainstay of treatment for RPLS is surgical resection, but the recurrence rate is high and expeditious, which affects the prognosis severely. In recent years, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and other modalities have been employed, and novel concepts such as immunotherapy have gradually emerged; this has led to the establishment of a multidisciplinary approach with surgery as the cornerstone in combination with other treatment strategies. This review summarizes the main stream multidisciplinary treatment modalities for RPLS.
