Abstract:
Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world. Although the incidence of gastric cancer in young people is relatively low, in recent decades, the new cases have gradually shown a trend of youthfulness. And young patients with GC a distinct type of GC as it has special clinicopathological characteristics. By summarizing the research progress in recent years in the fields of young patients with gastric cancer epidemiology, etiology, clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis, this paper attempts to clarify the difference between young and old patients with GC; In this review, we summarized the research progress of domestic and foreign scholars in recent years, focusing on the optimization of perioperative treatment of GC, and summarizes the research progress of targeting and immunotherapy. To tackle the problems of heterogeneity, so it is urgent to further explore more accurate biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis to achieve accurate individualized treatment as well as exploring treatment strategies and developing new drugs in the future.
