Abstract:
Liver cancer is one of the most popular malignancies of human beings. We are threatened by its highmorbidity rate and mortality rate. Although surgery has been the chief way to treat it, few patients have the chance for rad-ical resection. Radiofrequency ablation has become one of the main non-surgical techniques for treating liver cancer, butthe recurrence rate of patients who have undergone radiofrequency ablation is relatively high. Local recurrence and intra-hepatic distant recurrence are the most common types of recurrence. We reviewed the correlation factors for recurrence ofliver cancer after radiofrequency ablation. Tumor diameter more than 3cm, proximity to large vessels, subcapsular location, lack of margin and physicians' experience are risk factors for local recurrence. High levels of AFP, poor Chile-Pugh gradeand increased TNM grade are risk factors for intrahepatic distant recurrence.
