Abstract:
Objective : By means of further analyzed to the patients of axillary lymph node-negative breast cancer, and study that the lymph nodes micrometastasis and the microvessel count of tumor influence on the prognosis of breast cancer.
Methods : We re-examined 882 regional lymph nodes of 48 patients which documental no tumor cells by conventional histopathological ex-amination from 48 of 564 female patients with the breast cancer in 1993 using immunohisto-chemical LSAB techniques. HE, anti-EMA, CK 19,and FVIII factor were used as the primary reagents to identify tumor cells both in lymph nodes and microvesssel count in tumor tissues.
Results : Overall, immunostaining positive tumor cells were found in 9.05(79/882) of the dissect-ed lymph nodes, there are not significant difference between these two group (P>0.05). Microves-sel count has obviously significant difference between these two group (P<0.001). This study was analysis by statistics, and showed that the distinguished ability of MVD was better than the lymph nodes micrometastases for patients' prognosis.
Conclusions : The lymph nodes micrometastases have not show the effect of patients' survival in this study. The microvessel count of tumor with the survival time of the breast cancer with axillary lymph node-negative present negative correla-tion.
