Abstract:
Objective : To evaluate the diagnostic values of multi -tumor markers protein biochip detective system for digestive tract cancer.
Methods : The serum levels of 12 common tumor markers, including CA199, NSE, CEA,CA242, CA125,CA153, AFP, ferrtin, free-PSA, PSA,β-HCG and HGH,were measured with the detective system in 113 digestive tract cancer patients, 48 patients with benign digestive disease and 145 healthy examinations.
Results : The positive rates were 78.76%, 45.83% and 28.97% in digestive tract cancer, benign digestive disease and healthy groups, respectively. The digestive tract cancer group had significantly higher positive rate than that of the controls (P<0.05).Except for pancreatic cancer, combined measurement had higher positive rates for esophageal cancer, gastric carcinoma and colonic cancer than single tumor marker (P<0.05), and its sensitivity for staging I and n digestive tract cancer was 50.00%.
Conclusion : Multi-tumor markers protein biochip detective system can significantly increase the diagnostic sensitivity for digestive tract cancer. As its specificity and positive predictive value were lower, it was more suitable to be used as an surveying tool to symptomless people, especially to high risk people.
