Abstract:
Objective : To explore the diagnosis and treatment of carcinoma external auditory canal.
Methods : Retrospective analysis of "7 patients with carcinoma originated in external auditory canal were treated in our hospital. Clinical manifestation involved earache, aural tumor, aural discharge. Most of 27 were adenoid cystic carcinoma.
Results : According to the tumor extent, the patients were treated by surgery and radiotherapy. The 5-year survival rate for the whole series was 52.2%.
Conclusions : They have a high tendency for regional recurrence. We suggest that early diagnosis and adequate surgical treatment for localized external auditory canal be needed for high care rate.
