Abstract:
Objective :To study the expression of IL- 8 in breast cancer and to explore the correation between the expression of IL- 8 and the characters of clinical pathology and biology.
Methods :Immunohistochemistry was used to measure the expression of IL-8, ER, PR, VEGF and CD105 in breast carcinoma.
Results :a. In 103 patients with breast cancer, the rate of IL- 8(+)was 34%,(++)was 35%,(+++)was 10.7%. The positive expression was significantly higher than in the normal and benign tissues(P=0). b. The expressions of IL- 8 was correlated positively with the VEGF, CD105(P=0).c. The expression of IL一8 was associated with the axillary lymph node, the different histological grade, the clinical stage(P<0.05).d. The expression of IL- 8 was associated with prognosis of breastcancer(P<0.05).e. The expression of IL- 8 was not related to ER, PR, the tumor diameter and the pathology type(P>0.05).
Conclusions :The expression of IL- 8 in breast carcinoma has a close relationship with prognosis factors, and can be used as an index for predicting the Prognosis.
