Abstract:
Objective :To study the expression of maspin and CD44V6 in human non-small celllung cancer.
Methods :PictureTM,an immunohistochemical method, was used to detect CD44V6 andmaspin protein expression in 94 lung cancer samples, 54 normal bronchial mucosas and 28 benign tu-mor samples.
Results :The positive rate of maspin was 100%, 89.28% and 54.26% in normal bronchialepithelial cells, benign tumors and non- small cell lung cancer, respectively (P<0.05). The expression ofCD44V6 was negative in normal bronchial mucosa and in benign tumors, and 68.18% in non-small celllung cancer. The expression of maspin and CD44V6 correlated with lymph node metastasis and TNMstaging, but not with histological type and classification degree. The expression of maspin was negative-ly correlated with CD44V6 (r=-0.213, P<0.01).
Conclusion :Maspin and CD44V6 are involved in car-cinogenesis. The levels of maspin and CD44V6 may be a sensitive predictor of metastasis and prognosisin NSCLC.
