Abstract:
With the development of laparoscopic technology, the treatment of liver diseases is undergoing a major change from traditional open surgery to laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. Compared with open liver resection, laparoscopic surgery has advantages of less trauma, faster recovery, and improved aesthetic appearance. However, because of poor exposure of the operating field and rich blood supply of the liver, laparoscopic surgical strategies have faced huge challenges. In recent years, the accumulation of clinical practice experience and technological innovations have greatly expanded the indications and safety of minimally invasive liver surgery. In this review, the current applications and progress of laparoscopic minimally invasive techniques are discussed and their promising prospects in liver surgery are highlighted.
