Abstract: Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway is critical during embryonic development.Recent studies have shown that Hh signaling plays an important role in oncogenesis and development of many malignant tumors.In particular, activation of the Hh signaling pathway is implicated in the aggressiveness and progression of gastric cancer.This review provides an overview of the research progress on the role of Hh pathway in gastric cancer.Investigation of this pathway may reveal a novel target for gastric cancer therapy.
