Abstract:
Hippo pathway is a signaling network involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis, whereas Yes-asso-ciated protein (YAP) is the major effector of the pathway. YAP is a candidate oncogene, and dysregulation of the Hippo-YAP pathway is closely related to the occurrence and progression of various tumors. Therefore, Hippo-YAP may provide a novel therapeutic target for cancer treatment. Some drugs or compounds that regulate the Hippo-YAP pathway activity, such as verteporfin, can inhibit the occur -rence or growth of tumors. This review mainly focuses on the progress of studies on the use of Hippo-YAP signaling pathway as a target of cancer treatment strategies.
