Abstract:
Endometrial cancer is a common malignant tumor of the female reproductive system. Obesity and age are risk factors for endometrial cancer. Obesity affects the physiology of patients, especially the respiratory and circulatory systems. Moreover, a thick fatty layer in the abdominal wall can pose a challenge during surgery. Older patients with weakened organ functions and poor compensatory abilities often cannot tolerate very traumatic surgeries. In recent years, the da Vinci robotic surgical system (DVSS) has been widely used for the minimally invasive treatment of endometrial cancer in obese or older patients and has provided a good curative effect. Robot-assisted technology offers obvious advantages over traditional laparoscopy. This article reviews the application of the DVSS in the treatment of obese or older patients with endometrial cancer.
