Abstract:
Objective : Discussion of Diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of Non-palpable T0 Breast Cancer.
Methods : Between 1978 and 1997, 9980 female patients with operable breast cancer were treated surgically, Among which 276 cases of T0 breast cancer were detected. Most cases of T0 breast cancer could be detected promptly with careful examination of presenting symptoms, such as nipple discharge, local thickening of the breast, nipple erosion, nipple retrac-tion and postmenopausal mastalgia, while 12 cases were detected by routine mammography of the contralateral breast.
Results : All patients were treated by surgery and histopathological exam, most cases (73.02%) were noninvasive and early invasive carcinoma and axillary lymph node metastasis accounted for 7.69% in the 234 mastectomy cases.
Conclusions : 98.1% were alive and well after the following 5 years, and 94.6% for 10 years, 90.3% for 15 years. The survival rate was in-creased obviously.
