Abstract:
Objective : To comprehend the clinical characteristics, treatment and prognosis of pri-mart' clear cell carcinoma of female genital tract (PCCCOFGT).
Methods : Forty-five patients with PC-CCOFGT were analyzed retrospectively from January 1962 to December 2000.
Results : Forty-five pa-bents with PCCCOFGT were classified as 3 patients of vaginal clear cell carcinoma, 11 patients of cer-vital of cervical clear cell carcinoma, 6 patients of end ometrial clear cell carcinoma, and 25 patients of ovarian clear cell carcinoma. The total mean age of 45 patients was 50 years, the youngest were the pa-bents of vaginal clear cell carcinoma whose mean age were 33.7 years, and the oldest were the patients of endometrial clear cell carcinoma whose mean age were 58.3 years. The clinical symptoms of PCC-COFGT were similar to those of common adenocarcinoma, but the local masses originating from thevaginal, cervix ,endometrium and ovary were usually bigger. Most of patients were diagnosed as earlystage, and the patients who were diagnosed as stag Ⅰ and stageⅡ were accounted of 68.9%. The 5-year survival rate of patients with stage I and stage, which was 77.3% and 77.8%respectively, wasobviously higher than that of patients with stageⅢand stageⅣ, which was 27.3% and 0% respective-1y (P<0.001). Although the 5-year survival rate of patients with vaginal clear cell carcinoma and with ovarian clear cell carcinoma was 66.7% and68.0% respectively, higher than that of patients withFler-vital clear cell carcinomaand with endometrial clear cell carcinoma, whichwas 54.6% and16.7% re-spectively, theywerenot significantly difference by statistical test (P>0.05). After treatment, PCC-COFGT easily recur and metastasize to the retroperitoneal lympho node and lung.
Conclusions : The patients of PCCCOFGT were diagnosed as early stage. The stage was the most important factor effected on prognosis, and PCCCOFGT frequently metastasized to the retroperitoneal lympho node and lung.
