Abstract:
Objective :To investigate the tumour spectrum of hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) families in Chinese population.
Methods :he characteristics of tumor spectrum for the collected Sixty-nine families in which 33 were in accordance with Amsterdam Criteria, 24 with Japan Criteria(JC) and 12 with Item 13 of Bethesda Guideline(BG), were analyzed.
Results :Among the 69 families, there were 277 cancer patients totally, among which 213 were those with intestinal cancers and 64 with extraintestinal cancers, accounting for 76.9% and 23.1%,respectively. The patients with gastric cancer and endometrial cancer accounted for 6.5% and 4%, respectively.
Conclusions :Intestinal cancer is the most prevalent cancer in the tumour spectrum and the next is the gastric cancer and the endometrial cancer. The extraintestinal cancer is one of the most important characteristics of HNPCC families.
