Abstract:
Objective : To discuss the diagnosis and effective treatment of prostate sarcoma.
Methods : The symptom, examination, operation, pathology and prognosis were analyzed in six patients with prostate sarcoma.
Results : The patients' average age was 38. Dysuria was the initial symptom in most cases and defecation was difficult in the later. DRE showed that prostate was huge and soft. The result of PSA was normal. Pathological diagnosis demonstrated leiomyosarcoma in one case, malignant fibrous tissue tumor in two, undifferentiated lobus intermedius-source tumor in one, rhabdomyosarcoma in one and non -Hodgkin lymphoma with low malignancy in one. Three subjects received operation,radiotherapy and chemotherapy and another three were discharged with no treatment.
Conclusions :Operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the main therapies for prostate sarcoma. The process of disease develops rapidly and the prognosis is very poor. The lymphosarcoma of prostate has a good prognosis.
