Abstract:
Objective : To detect the significance of chlorophyll disclosing solution in lym-phadenectomy of female malignant tumors.
Methods : In 10 dogs, chlorophyll solution was injected into the testis or theuterine cornu. The pelvic cavity lymph nodes were observed by naked eyes, light micro-scope and electron microscope, the concentration of chlorophyll in the blood was measured. The chloro-phyll solution was injected into the cervix in the coloring group. Paraffin sections and freeze sections of the resected nodes were made.
Results : The chlorophyll granules were found in lymphoid sinus under light microscope. Four hrs after injection many chlorophyll granules were seen within macrophages under electron microscope, but the density of chlorophyll granules decreased. the concentration of chlorophyll in the blood was 92.36 !g/ml and 360.65μg/ml at the 2nd and 4th hour respectively. The rates of the resected nodes in study group were higher than those in control group significantly. Duration of resection in study group was shorter than that in control group.
Conclusion : Injection of chlorophyll into cervix before lymphadenectomy was useful for lymph nodes resection, operation time and avoiding adjacent structures.
