Abstract:
Objective :To evaluate the relationship between CT T-staging criteria and survivaltime in esophagus carcinoma treated by nonoperative therapy.
Methods :The CT scan data of 304 pa-tients were retrospectively analyzed according to CT-modified T-staging criteria, T
1 5 cases, T
2 49 cas-es, T
3 127cases and T
4 123 cases. All patients were followed-up after 1 year, 3 years and 5 years, re-spectively.
Results :The mean survival time of T
1, T
2, T
3, T
4 was 53.0, 30.6, 17.5 and 15.7 months, re-spectively. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon methods, T
1:T
3, P=0.036, T
1:T
4, P=0.029; T
2:T
3, P=0.006, T
2:T
4, P=0.001, all had significant difference, but T
1:T
2, P=0.289, T
3:T
4, P=0.438, without sig-nificant difference.
Conclusion :CT T staging criteria of esophageal carcinoma is a very useful modalityin evaluation prognosis of no-operation therapy esophagus carcinoma.
