Abstract:
Objective: Our study will try to detect the different expression patterns of Ki67, Fas,Bax and survivin in SHCC and advanced HCC and to study the relationships with biological behavior. Methods: The expression of Ki67, Fas, Bax and survivin protein in 40 cases of SHCC and 43 cases of HCC was detected by immunohistochemistry and was analyzed in conjunction with clinicopathological factors. Results: The expression of Fas and Bax in SHCC is more pronounced than it is in HCC (P<0.05). The expression of survivin and Ki67 both have a negative correlation with Fas expression(P<0.05)and a positive correlation with envelope invasion, embolus formation and tumor metastasis(P<0.01). The expression of Fas has a negative correlation with embolus formation and tumor metastasis (P<0.01).Conclusions: Advanced HCC shows a low level of apoptosis and diminished or completely absent expression of Fas and Bax, features that help ensure rapid tumor growth. The expression of Ki67, Fas and Survivin may play an important role in the biological behavior of SHCC and HCC
