Abstract: Objective: To study the Expression of Heparanase and bFGF and the relationship with the biologic behavior of gastric cancer. Methods: The Expression of HPA mRNA in Gastric Cancer was studied by RT-PCR, the Expression of bFGF protein was studied by immunohistochemistry. Results:The positive group showed a significantly differentiation in gross appearance, depth oi invasion, histology and growth stale, lymph node metastasis, peritoneal dissemination and TNM stage, But no significant differences in tumor size. The high expression of bFGF showed a significantly differentiation in depth of invasion and TNM stage. The patients of both HPA positive and bFGF positive have high positive rate in peritoneal dissemination, lymph node metastasis and ECC. Conclusion: HPA shows high expression in gastric cancer tissues and takes a key role in invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer cells.
