Review of the Progress on the Relationship between Infiltration of Immune Cells and Lung Cancer

Abstract: Lung cancer has high morbidity and mortality rates. For patients with lung cancer the immune system ’s struggle with the cancer inevitably plays a crucial role in which several major immune cells, especially those infiltrating the cancer tissue such as tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILS), tumor associated macrophages (TAMS), tumor infiltrating den-dritic cells (TIDC), and tumor infiltrating NK cells (TINK), play an important role. A large number of studies have shown that the presence of tumor infiltrating immune cells is related to the prognosis of patients with lung cancer. These cells partici -pate in anti-tumor activities, immune surveillance and possibly immune system destruction of the tumor.
